Complete Guide on How to Rank First on Google
I’ve structured this article as a series of simple questions that every doctor serious about online business should be able to answer. Imagine preparing for a university exam on online marketing. In this article, you’ll find all the questions from the professor. Read them carefully.
What is SEO?
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) encompasses practices and strategies aimed at enhancing a website’s visibility on search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo. The primary goal of SEO is to increase both the quality and quantity of organic (non-paid) traffic to the website, thus improving its position in search results for specific keywords or phrases.
What is On-site SEO?
On-site SEO (or on-page SEO) refers to all the optimizations that can be applied directly on the website to improve its visibility and ranking in search engine results. This means when we create a website to be found on Google, we must take various considerations into account.
What are the most important On-site SEO techniques?
In order of importance:
- Loading Speed: Ensure the site loads quickly, as loading speed affects search engine ranking and user experience. Use https://pagespeed.web.dev/ to evaluate your site’s speed. A site designed to rank first in search engines should score all 100s.
- Achieving 100 in Google PageSpeed: To achieve this, your hosting must be fast. It’s worth spending more on high-performance hosting.
- Hosting Costs: The cost of hosting (the server) for your site can range from 30€ a year to 1000€. What you choose depends on the number of visitors you plan to have on your site.
- Website Design: A minimalist website design is fast, user-friendly, and focuses visitors on content. Google loves speed, and this improved visitor experience can lead to more clients. Even if hosted on a super cheap 30€ a year hosting, a minimalist design optimized for search engines can easily reach top positions on Google.
Image Optimization: Compress images to improve page load times and use alt attributes for images to describe them. You can use any online site to compress your images for free before uploading them to your site.
Optimizing Meta Title and Description Tags
- Exam Question: What are the Title and Description Meta Tags?
- Title Tag: Displays the page’s title in the browser bar and Google search results. It helps people understand what the page is about when found in Google’s result list.
- Description Tag: Provides a brief description of the page in search results. It influences how appealing a page is to visitors and can increase click-through rates.
These meta tags are crucial because they help people find and understand your site’s content in search engine results before clicking on it.
Writing Articles for Your Blog: Besides writing the article and content, you need to write the title and description for Google. Why for Google? Because, statistically, people click on the first three results on Google regardless of what’s written in the title or description. It’s worth writing a meta title and description that Google likes to get you into the top results.
Exam Question: How does Google want us to write our title and description?
Imagine you’ve written a blog article about the benefits of green tea, and you want to be the first result when someone searches “the benefits of green tea” on Google. What should the meta title and description be?
- Meta Title: Should always include the keyword you want to be found with, in this case, “the benefits of green tea”.
- Meta Description: Should include the keyword at least twice.
Optimizing Article Content: If I decide to write an article to be indexed among the top Google search results for “the benefits of green tea,” the keyword must be included in the title, twice in the first paragraph, and repeated 7 to 15 times throughout the article, depending on what your competitors have done. Specify the alt text in images,
which in this case should be “the benefits of green tea.” Google loves multimedia content, so include relevant images and videos. If you can’t find any, a quick method is to use ChatGPT-4 to generate images related to your article.
That covers on-site SEO. Now let’s delve into my favorite topic: off-site SEO.
What is Off-site SEO?
Off-site SEO includes activities performed outside your website to increase its reputation and online visibility.
What are the most important Off-site SEO techniques?
- Link Building: This involves obtaining links from other websites to yours. The more authoritative sites link to your site, the more important your site becomes in the eyes of search engines like Google. This can help your site achieve better search result positions and attract more visitors. Today, it’s impossible to have your content in the top three search results without backlinks. More sites citing your site the better, but remember, not all backlinks are equal.
- Read my article “The Art of Backlinks” for more details.
After creating your keyword-rich article and writing the meta title and description as Google likes, the next step is to create backlinks to your website, in other words, do link building.
- Guest Posting (Optional): Guest posting is when someone writes and publishes an article on a website other than their own. In other words, it’s like writing an article as a guest on someone else’s website. This is a way to build links to your site that Google likes. I explain this in the above-mentioned article.
I especially recommend doctors write for online scientific journals, as these are high-quality backlinks that help rank first in search results with your site or sometimes directly with the article written for the journal. If you want to start guest posting for scientific journals to create backlinks for your site, contact me on WhatsApp at +393474495954. I can recommend a network of sites tailored for Google that can help with your link-building strategy and rank first with your sites, videos, and articles. The cost of writing in these 5 journals is only 10 euros per month. It’s worth it.
Last Technique: A Personal Secret
- Exam Question: What is Dr. Bonifacio’s final off-SEO technique?
- Backlink Enhancement: Essentially, you need many sites citing the articles that cite your site. For example, Marco cites Piero, who cites Fausto. The website I use to enhance my backlinks is fiverr.com
In summary: I do my research and find it’s worth writing an article on a certain topic because the chance of indexing it among the top three Google results is high, and I believe it’s a sought-after topic. The first question I ask myself is, what are people searching for with this issue? Once I decide it’s worth creating the article, I start writing. I include the keyword in the article title, preferably at the beginning, use the keyword as the subject of the first paragraph, and repeat it twice in the first paragraph. I write the keyword at least a dozen times throughout the article. I write the meta title and description for Google, using the All in One SEO plugin for control over the meta. Then I move on to backlinks. I create quality backlinks as explained in “The Art of Backlinks” guide and do guest posting on scientific magazines, citing the article on my site that I just wrote in a way Google likes, then move to the final phase. I enhance the backlinks I just made by citing the sites that cited me on several other sites. I use Fiverr for this purpose. If I don’t see myself in the top search results within twenty days and the on-site SEO is fine, I continue to create more backlinks, repeating the steps of off-site SEO, and it’s only a matter of time.
Sure! If your website meets Google’s standards, all you need are good quality backlinks. My trick is to write for online science magazines. For example, if twenty sites write an article about quitting smoking and mention your site with the anchor text “quit smoking,” you’ll likely end up on the first page of Google. You can also boost these links by buying $5 backlinks from social bookmarking sites on Fiverr. Even though these links aren’t specific, they still work. Every month, I can add new doctors to this network. They can write for these magazines to improve their site’s reputation with Google and rank higher in search results for their desired keywords.
